Is RED a Christian Band?

I wrote a long lengthy blog on the topic about is RED a Christian band, but I decided pull the plug on it. One of my concerns was after I saw an Instagram post from Red Light Management employee Ted Beidler who is a band manager at Red Light. He screenshotted a text message between himself and one of the Red band members, and it had profanity in it. Seriously? Nobody is perfect, but my agent doesn't send me text messages with profanity because they know I don't talk like that. I guess this is a downfall of having your "Christian" band managed by a secular company and a big city slicker in New York like big Ted. If you are going to post that online, what's going on behind the scenes?
Does RED's music say HOLY S%!;?

Here's what Jesus says about knowing if someone is a Christian. In Matthew 7:16 You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

What do you think after seeing them at Winter Jam and the text message exchange? Post below in the comments.

Is Red a Christian Band Michael Barnes

Mike Barnes Lead Singer Red from Winter Jam 2016

  1. Hey Mike. Hope you're doing well. Thankful for your presence online. Enjoy following your blog, instagram, etc.

I'm not one for controversy and I sure don't want to stir things up here.

I'm not going to speak to any of the accusations above because I don't have any firsthand knowledge of such things.

I will say that Michael Barnes the lead singer of RED is a friend and member of my church. I've watched Michael for years and have been more than impressed with his relationship with Christ. He's a man of integrity who lives out so many amazing Christ like characteristics.

I've got 3 boys who are very impressionable these days. They love music and I'm pretty picky about who I allow them to be influenced by. I can say with all confidence that Mike (and the band RED) are the kind of people I want my sons looking up to. Their heart to reach people who couldn't be reached by other Christian bands has blown me away.

Again, I don't want to be argumentative. I just wanted to let you know my personal experience with these guys.

    Thanks Mike!

    1. Appreciate your insight. Amazing how God can take a big world and make it small.

God makes no mistakes, and nothing happens by coincidence.

  2. I personally can see how anyone can interpret Red's music to their own liking. However, (and let me say first, I am not a heavy metal fan), I can relate to the words of their songs in a Christian fashion. Although, I haven't heard them all. But Pieces and Breathe Into Me are two that hit home with me. I found this blog because I found myself asking, "Is this really a Christian band?" because I am not hearing the name of Jesus only that I can apply the words to my relationship with Jesus. There are many American Christians who believe that because Jesus died for all sin that we have a free ticket to continue to live in and define our own personal sins. Jesus clearly said we can tell by the fruit. When Jesus changed me, and it didn't happen overnight, it did include the shedding away of drugs, alcohol, fornication and much more. With that said, there is still inward, deep seeded sin yet to be pulled free but He is working on that too. If we are to be the Light, we need to live like Jesus lived. So like any music, we should listen to the words carefully and determine what they mean to us. If we never hear the name of Jesus in an appropriate fashion, then there is the chance that the musicians are only out to make money and not to spread the Gospel. Thank you for this blog Mike. I am sorry you were treated so badly.

  3. I could sense my heart being very much not at peace while listening to some of their songs. They were very much ,i dont know how to put them in words, but "troubled" seems fit here.
Many alleged christian bands prefer to use"You" rather than Jesus or God just to reach out to others outside the box of faith...letting people to have their own perception.
Its a basic thing, are you calling out to God with love or yelling and screaming at Him to breathe into you? I find it disheartening.
Bands like Skillet are in between two extremes.., its pretty clear that their songs are directed to God but still its not enough, right?
Switchfoot is a band thats Christian by faith, but not by genre (according to their lead singer). I still listen to them only cos their music is clean (lyric wise)
But, people like michael w.smith or chris tomlin or matt redman...they didnt get as wider audience as skillet and red because they were boxed in a genre!
    Sad days really.

    1. Jesus knows everyone on this wold to a tee even if they are not Christians he accepts all humans but not all even know of him everyone is a sinner even if they are with God as a Christian but it's only through his forgiveness and grace that we can be forgiven for them. Churchs are ment for the sick minded and sinners think of it like a hospital for sinners.

    2. Hello im just here to say i have been researching this band as im a christian and a lead vocalist of a rising christian based rock band,i have reviewed some of red through winter jam videos and i can say proudly that in one of the sessions shown at winter jam into the second song after take me over he stoped and asked the people "right here and now do you believe in Jesus and that he is he changing you",now all who follow the gospels will know that anyone or thing of Evil cannot speak the name of our Lord and savior Jesus put loud but he did so to me that is proof and plausible that he being Reds header is Infact a Christian so we can go to assume that the rest of his band is aswell,as Christians being in the pressence of thise in like mind is good

    3. Generally speaking, just because people talk about Jesus does not mean they are saved. Easily refuted by the bible- Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

  9. Or letter black or flyleaf. I have seen both sides, or have been on both sides of this argument. The thing most grace killers like to point out is that Jesus is not mentioned. If not that, than not mentioned as God. Yes the seeds is a sing, do you see those that hear the music and decided to make a change? For some is to plant and some to harvest.

A side note. I am a sinner who can from death and black metal. I found Christ threw music like this.

  10. Some of the quickest to past judgement on others call themselves Christians. We talk about watching what people do and that determines if they are Christians....I disagree. I do believe actions speak louder than words, but I also think it is not my place to pass judgement as to the heart or intentions of another. I love rock music but often avoid it because the lyrics are offensive and definitely not what I want to be putting in my head. I believe based on what this group claims that they are attempting to provide good rock music with positive or helpful lyrics. What we do with anything in this world is our own personal decision. I choose to enjoy the music and all the while try to be an example to others through my own actions. Let's look at this correctly....in the end we are all going to answer for what we have done and had in our hearts. It is the person who can corrupt even the simplest of things. I give this group and all like them a thumbs up for at the very least providing rock to our younger generation (and us oldies too) with a message of hope!

  11. It is my belief that if even ONE lost soul came to Christ through Red's music they have fulfilled the Great Commission. Matthew 18:12-14. Personally, I have been ministered to by Red's music on a number of occasions and God used them to pull me closer to Him. In the end, you have to judge everything against the Word of God, including music lyrics.

  12. I saw them in Chattanooga last night, which lead me to research them. I was UNIMPRESSED by the make-up (superhero? Looked more demonic to me than any superhero I'd ever seen), and their songs. While the lyrics may have been Christian, what good is that if they can't be understood? Definitely not my cup of tea, and didn't seem very Christ-like at all. BUT, if some kid gets something out of that that points him/her to Christ, to God be the glory.

  13. Yeap.. took my daughter to my first and last winter jam in tampa. My daughter is 9 and was like what!!! I as well... my thoughts went back to my back to my fallen days when I seen a south park episode of South park starting a Christian band. Needless to say my daughter and I decided the venue was not for us and left. Interesting to see there view of super heroes.. more like villains.. funny thing was before they they played the winter fest preacher comes out preacher comes out gets everyone to say the prayer of excepting Christ.. then wham the band Red... leading the sheep to slaughter.. lovely message of confusion. Then on the way back to my car I thought.. it wld be interesting to see who their label is with.. hmmmm.. guess who.. Sony (Wikipedia). Looks like Christian music has its imposter. Course I am sure it's not their fault God probably told them that it was a good idea to join up with Sony.. they r the best to spread the word of Christ. (Fyi. The movie THE IMPOSTER" 2008 great movie)

  14. Update. Looking at the video I took.. they have pitchforks on the stage and about 4 min into the show (on my video 3 min) the base play does the shhhh with finger over his lips then turns it into the 666 sign to the crowd . Would like to know if they do that at the rest of the winter jam concerts and the camera is on him each time for the big screen. (My daughter pointed that out to me)

  15. I'm not passing judgement here, but I attended WinterJam in Nashville last night, and I was very confused by the band RED. I thought we were there to worship. This band never so much as uttered a word about Jesus or God in any of there songs. No crosses anywhere. It actually appeared to be somewhat evil in essence. I will not be back to any event with the band RED performing.

  16. I also attended the Nashville Winter Jam. There was a good feeling in the place. When they came on, my jaw dropped. There was a very uneasy feeling about them. I cannot judge their relationship with Christ but I can say I felt nauseous. Something is not right. I pray if they are there to lead people astray, God would turn it to His good and hopefully change them!

  17. First Winterjam ATL 2016, I was in total shock when they came out. Something in my spirit just tells me that is not right. I cant find any scripture to say that they are biblical in their appearance. I couldn't understand a word they were screaming. Still very unsettling to me.

    1. Everyone says they feel something is not right with the band. I feel the same way whenever I listen to their music. Looks like God is speaking. I would be wary of going to their concerts since such concerts may be a way of initiating concert goers to whatever stuff that band is in.

  18. WinterJam AUGUSTA GA 2016. When Red came on, our whole group was extremely uneasy to the point one of them left the area. Paul discusses in Romans 14:13-21 stumbling blocks and the fact that something can be clean but if it causes a brother or sister to stumble then is is not of God. verse 21 says "It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble." If what the band does causes people to stumble in their faith, that is not good fruit to bare.
For me, well, I couldn't really hear what they were singing but the stage, their make-up, the way they presented themselves, not mentioning God at all... that was enough for me. In my opinion, that type of music is difficult to do and claim to be a christian band because the fact that it completely rides that fence of being christian AND worldly that one could be easily persuaded to take the name of God out of lyrics and/or do things that would appeal to more people. the persuading factor would be more $$$$

  19. So many people here are judging them. I wasn't raised Christian and I grew up on rock and roll and heavy metal. I am a Christian now but that doesn't mean my taste in music has changed. Yet I don't listen to the same bands I used to because of the messages and language. Red may not mention God or Jesus by name but that is who they are singing about. People who don't know God can get hope through their music with out even knowing it. Just because you don't like the genre doesn't mean it's not for Gods glory.

    3. That's the "Sign of the Horns" which was introduced in the 60's by psychedelic-occult rock band Coven, led by singer Jinx Dawson. Be forewarned, the argument made against it being okay for them to use the Sign of the Horns is... it means something different to them, and people will reference things like Easter Eggs which have a different meaning. The problem to me, The Sign of the Horns isn't a thousands of Years old tradition. Upload the video to Youtube and post the link here. No Christian band should be doing the Sign of the Horns, but they do it anyway. Some of them do the Sign for Love which is similar to the Sign of the Horns, google it.

    4. Hey Mike! Thanks for your quick reply. It's not the horn sign. If ya go to Google and put in "666 hand sign" or "MTV music awards 2016 666" then click on images... it wld be that sign he shows across the crowd. I wld say ok no big deal but before he does it he puts his finger over his lips as to say shhhhhhh.. then shows the hand sign. I if the two hand signs were not together I wld dismiss the thought. However, to me it's shhhh don't tell anyone but 666.. it's a secret. But to each his own. Let me know if ya change your mind on taking a look. As always thanx! Grace and peace to us all!!

    1. My sentiment exactly. My girls and I left during their performance at Winterjam this year. They are 11 and 8 and suggested the music reminded them of the devil and it was scary. I encouraged them to listen to the lyrics but they didn't enjoy. We are known by our fruits. Christian music should draw us near to Christ.

    2. My 15 year old son and I saw Red for the first time at Winter Jam. Then again at Creation Festival. We are Christians. My older son, at the time 28 years, brought an unsaved friend with us to Winter Jam. We all absolutely love Red. My older sons friend bought their CD. Now, three years later, we all met in NYC to see them. We all went, because my youngest, now 15, absolutely lives Red. Their music has gotten him through such difficult times during his teen years. He always has their music playing. He's a little obsessed! Lol. My 15 year old is also a Boy Scout... almost Eagle... Chaplain Aide for his troop. Leads Christian Cornerstone. A bible study club in his high school, and is very active in our church and youth group. My son also loves Jordan Feliz, Toby Mac, Jeremy Camp ... and many other Christian artists. Red was a blessing to my son the last two years! My son shares their music with others in and out of church. We love how artistic they are. And we love the diversity of their music. The strings!! My sister is in the symphony. Funny! I just told my son tonight. I'm going to get a Red tattoo! Lol that's how strongly I feel about how their music has been a blessing to my son! Jesus spoke in parables. Open your heart.

  21. I saw them in Winter Jam this past January and I could not believe my ears nor my eyes when they started performing. My eyes started filling up with tears because I could never imagine Jesus Himself being pleased with the way and the appearance of the band. I could not praise God through their music, not only they didn't mention God or Jesus in any way, but God is also a God of order and I didn't see that reflected in them. I did not understand a single word they said and it gave me a sense of confusion and desesperation that is nothing like the Christian Spirit of praise all throughout the Psalms and the entire Bible.

    1. I just went to WinterJam last week as a chaperone for our youth group. I saw RED as well. While their appearance was definitely not what I expected, their music has a purpose. There were kids in our group that turned up their nose at the music, but there were also kids that saw Christ through this band. They saw a band that they liked the sound of and didn't feel like an outsider with. (These same kids went running out when Crowder came on...they couldn't stand to listen to him. Crazy to me, but it was how they felt.) So please think twice about saying that Jesus would not be pleased with them when they have a group of kids (and adults) they are pointing toward Christ that won't even listen to bands that most other Christians find "acceptable." Also, the crowd after RED was done playing to buy their merchandise (which I was a part of) was huge. Their music was obviously speaking to people who were there to worship God. Their reach may not be as widespread as Crowder or a way for everyone to worship God, but it IS a way for their fans to worship God with music that they love.

I am actually a small group leader for our Sr. High girls. Two of the girls that I know really related to and liked RED's music couldn't make it to our small group on Monday, but I was glad that if they were going to miss a meeting that it was that one. One of the girls at our small group decided to condemn, bash and make fun of RED. One of the girls that liked RED in particular has extreme social anxieties, and her hearing the first girl would have been disasterous. So my point is, while it may not be everyone's cup of tea, there is a group out there that hates the music you love. That doesn't make the music you love any less powerful for you. Christ loves ALL of us. Even the ones that some people think are scary. So could we please see that everyone doesn't have to be the same in order to be pleasing to God?

  22. Went to Winter Jam in Columbia, SC last night. I enjoyed the show right up to the time that Red came out. A close up shot of the lead singers face and his comment that they wanted to look like super heroes, well they really miswsed the mark on that. On the stage were wicked and scary looking trees. Screaming (satanic sounding), smoke, a lot of fire om stage and more of that horrible satanic sounding screaming. I was waiting for him to bring out a bat or a dove and bite its head off or to kill a rabbit on stage. Everything about their act (makeup, screaming, props) just made me think of the 80's when secular self proclaimed satan worshipers took the stages turning the youth against God. And if they don't mention God they could be talking to or about anyone including satan. Don't let political correctness get the better of you and make you accept this as anything but what it is. I will never go to any show again that has this group Red in it, not worth it to me to take the chance that aren't singing about God as the rest of the performers did. I know you will call me judgemental but I am just calling it like I see it and I have seen a lot in my time. I don't know what is in their hearts but I heard what was spewing out of their mouths.

  23. Well I was kind of skeptical when I saw them ,and I'm sitting at the Winter Jam concert now but he just spoke to the crowd declaring Jesus is the greatest power over ALL evil, so I guess this goes back to man judges the outward appearance but GOD judges the heart. This was kind of different music for me just the same as Skillet but if it's drawing people to Christ from a road we have never walked on so be it TO GOD BE THE GLORY

    1. I was at the same Norfolk concert tonight-I sure wish I'd heard him declare that Jesus is Lord, because it is, 1am and I am too troubled to sleep. I had to Google the band, just hoping to find some Christ pointing explanation for the utter darkness their performance brought into the arena. I don't mind screamo music and, in the name of artistic license, I could almost understand if they were just trying to literally scare the hell out of us, and then follow it up with the light and hope of Christ but they didn't. After the grim reaper was defeated, I would've hoped that the giant creepy black dead trees would've shown signs of life, the dark hooded performers would've removed their hoods, and the flames of fire would've been replaced with the brightest Light. The sheer fact that the singer had to tell us that his makeup wasn't meant to be scary-it's just for fun, revealed that he knew people were scared. Indeed they were, the girl next to me was crying! Fear is not from God.

    2. Fear is not from God? Have you read the Old Testament? Tons of fire, brimstone, and fear. Major problem with many Christians today is they choose to edit parts of the Bible that do not conform to their personal points of view. Such as when God commanded mass genocide. I'm a Christian, but not one with what I call "Baptist Blinders" to my own faith.

Above comment is using eisegesis, which is the human led way to study and interpret scripture, not a Spirit led way to do so. Also, "There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love."

    2. I think I may have been sitting behind you! I do not look like someone that most people would think would like Red. I am a 33 yr old mother of two who is married to the one God gifted her with. I have blonde hair and blue eyes and am very conscientious to dress in a way that is age appropriate. I had never heard of Red before that night, however, their songs were a way for me to worship God. I easily pick up on song lyrics and melodies, so I was singing along with a chorus when a lady in front of me, who was approximately in her 60's, turned around and stared at me horrified for about a half a minute. Then she and another lady with her left.

Here's the thing, I have battled depression for 20 years. I have always been drawn this style of music when I feel the sufficating effects of depression closing in. Until now, I have never had music in this genre that I could turn to that would point me back to my loving Savior; songs that let me know that I am not alone, that my God is by my side no matter what I am facing. So while you may have felt screamed at, others were crying out to God in the same moment.

p.s. You should have stuck around, Crowder had an great set. Hearing everyone lift up their voices to God together was awesome!

  26. Attended the Air1 Winter Jam 2016 tonight in Houston. I was shocked to see the band Red perform at Christian event which was supposed to bring praise and worship to Jesus. Not for one second did I see anything from Red that drew attention to Jesus. The display of wicked black trees along with fire shooting from the stage and the demonic face makeup was nothing more than frightening. Not to mention the head bangind and screaming from the group and those who apparently like them. I'm not wanting to be critical or judge wrongly but that performance didn't look holy at all. It looked like it came from the pits of hell, like it was from satan himself.

I am so disappointed that Air1 would mix godly worship music with something so evil. I will not attend another Air1 concert, no not ever.

  27. I think those of you in Houston last night are failing to mention what the Tour's pastor said before introducing him. He said that the band sings about evil and death, which are realities in our world. I am a Catholic, and I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fan of Christian music, because I just don't have much of it in my life. Last night, I found myself curious, and I bought a few CDs from some of the bands, and I am beginning to explore this music for myself. I accompanied my good friend to Winterjam last night. I didn't know a single band or note of music on the tour, but my friend is a very good person who turned to God after a tragedy, and I wanted to be there to support her. I like a lot of music, especially live music, and what I appreciated about Winterjam is that there was music for everyone. I don't particularly like rap, not a bit. But I sat through Tedashi and KB, and decided that some people like rap, and some people are Christians, so they probably would like to listen to Christian rap. I couldn't understand a word they said. But just because the rappers stopped and mentioned scripture, that for some reason makes them more "Christian" than another band who may not be your typical genre of music? I used to go to Rock Shows with my friend, and I found Red to be very intense, but I liked one of their songs (Take Me Over), and I saw a few people in the front row rock out to the band. Just like the Christians who like rap, there should be some hard rock that Christians could also listen to. Red fulfills that. And I agree with the pastor. Death and evil are a definite part of our lives, especially lately, and this band allows people to deal with that. I think those people who immediately think SATAN and DEMON are scared of the realities this band made them aware of, even for just a moment. I don't think they were promoting santanic, demonic, cultish anything. They are just showing the flip side to all the light. I think my reaction to their music is different, because of my tastes in music, as well as my background--I grew up with a father in the funeral business, so death and dying has always been a part of my life. I'm not afraid of it--it's the one certainty there is. So, in defense of Red, I just think they make some people uncomfortable because of the topics they use as the basis of their music, and there is a positive outcome from that--it sparks dialog and brings to light things that should be thought about once in a while.

Just because someone doesnt respond doesnt mean their head is "in the sand", it means they dont OWE "YOU" the answer nor are you privileged to hear ir see it.

  31. Christians hiding behind sin often hide behind the "Don't Judge" card. Once you read the ENTIRE bible, you also see there's a verse Galatians 6:1.

As a band that is ministering to youth on a WinterJam Christian music tour, it's a totally fair question to ask why the band manager is exchanging text messages with band members that contain profanity and posting it publicly online. I don't know about you, but I don't text my pastor messages with profanity, so obviously there is a reason why the band manager feels totally comfortable not only doing it, but then screen shotting it, and putting it out there for the masses to see, including the young people they are "ministering" to.

Nobody is judging anybody. Maybe there is a perfectly good explanation why "Christian" musicians don't have profanity in their music, but get text messages from the manager with profanity. Frankly, I think the whole situation is a joke.

You sound very arrogant, and as if you are a person with a vested interest in the situation BTW.

  32. Like anything else in this world...the post was about the profanity content on a text... And it went to demonic looks..😨I found very out of place and disrespectful the way they are communicating via text and proudly sharing it...there is where the problem begins, you want to sound cool and free thinker, very relaxed and open and respect and standards are forgotten. That is part of the dumb culture our kids are getting from movies,TV shows video games etc. But we don't expect that from leaders or influential godly people. On a different note... Judging from looks and and music styles can be very superficial and confusing. We were at the concert last night in New Orleans! And had a blast praising God! I love seeing the non stereotype Christian being able to Connect with God! And getting the message that been different it's okay❤

  33. I'm a little late to the party.. But..

First, just because an artist does not use Jesus does not make them NOT Christian, that is ridiculous.

Also I saw where someone says that making horns as a hand gesture is of the devil or whatever, that's also ridiculous. It's just a rock sign not a commitment to the devil.. Lol.

We are called to make disciples.. Bands like Red and Skillet are relatable, people, Christian and NonChristian, hear their music and love it because it lets them know that they're not alone, there are people like me. It is extremely important for Christians to be relatable because usually all we do is apparently sit around and bash others. The Gospel is presented constantly at Skillet and Red shows, shows in which are in places where usual Christian bands and artist don't go and that is amazing. They are reaching the lost, which is what we're called to do. It's disheartening to me to see Christians dismiss them for ridiculous reasons.

    1. Judging from your photo, you are not old enough to know who even started the sign of the horns. It's not a harmless rock sign. It was first seen and credited to the band Coven. Coven is recognized as being the band that first introduced the "Sign of the Horns" to rock, metal and pop culture (as seen on their 1969 debut album release Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls. (WikiPedia)

One Coven album concluded with a 13-minute track of chanting and Satanic prayers called "Satanic Mass"

You really need to do your homework and research before spreading misinformation. No Christian band should be associated with the sign of the horns which is CLEARLY rooted to satanists who started it. SMH.

Seems like Romans 12:2 would cover a "Christian Rock Band" not conforming to what a Satanic Rock band started in the 1960's to glorify satan.

    2. They may have been the first BAND to use it but many people and cultures used it long before, spiritually and superstitiously to expel demons, sickness, and bad thoughts as well as ward off bad luck. To me that seems more good than evil seeing as it has been used against demons not for them.

  34. I am so glad that I found this blog! After seeing Red in Chicago at Winter Jam, I was scouring the internet to find out more about this group. I had never heard of them before they took stage at Winter Jam, but I am happy to say that I know who they are now. Why am I happy to know who they are? I am happy to know who they are now so that I can counsel other Christians to exercise extreme discernment when listening to them. I am no stranger to heavy metal, but I think that this group could best be described as "death metal" even among secular circles. The imagery they used in their set was terrifying, dark and just so overtly demonic. In fact, when I went to their website to investigate them even further, I couldn't believe my eyes! The album covers from a supposed "Christian band" were more overtly Satanic than even some of the more hard core secular "death metal" groups. My heart was troubled by the imagery, sound, and lack of a message about Christ. The band's salvation is a matter between they themselves and God, however, as Christians, in whatever we do, we need to be known by our fruits. (Matthew 7:16) If you placed this group next to secular death metal bands, I couldn't pick out which one was a "Christian" band at all. The lyrics, when you look them up online, are not Biblical. They are not worship songs AT ALL. They are constantly talking about SELF. Think about it, who got kicked out of Heaven for regarding "the self" as more important than God? Lucifer. This idea of "bringing people to Christ through their music," I just don't see nor buy it. The band overly advertises that they are exposing people to the flip side of Christianity. Evil? Suffering? The sinner already knows what that feels like. We don't need to hear more about that. We get bombarded by that message every day in this culture. What we do need to hear about is the JOY in Christ. The HOPE. The RELATIONSHIP. The GRACE. His SACRIFICE so that we don't have to fear when adversity affects us. We know that God is carrying us though. Aside from this, I think that Red needs to reexamine what Biblical worship is and what it means to be a Christian. We are NEW beings in Christ. We live in this world, we are not of it. In my opinion, the organizers/promoters of Winter Jam missed the mark with this, or rather, perhaps "took the mark" on this one. The atmosphere in the venue in which I was in watching Red turned dark and I actually felt a type of demonic oppression. I prayed the whole time during their set. I prayed that the Holy Spirit open the eyes of all the listeners present to the strong delusion taking place right in front of them, just as was prophesied in the Bible that would happen during the end of the Church Age. I continue to pray because this group troubled me that much. Oh loved ones, do keep in God's Word, so that you are not deceived in these end times.

  35. Well I keep trying to purify my tastes in Music and I have been struggling with this band and POD and the other "christian" artists who don't glorify YHVH with their fruits. Seems like I would have to meet them in person and suggest they no longer use OCCULT imagery on cd covers (Looking at you POD)

What are some good bands with this same sound that are glorifying to Adonai?

  36. I really enjoyed RED's first album, and I saw them on tour in 2007. Their music and performance was inspirational, especially because of the bands they toured with (all secular). But, perhaps this offered an opportunity to be uplifted for those who normally would never listen to a "Christian" band. Fast forward to the now: having read the lyrics for the last album, and read the band members explanation of their music, I would encourage parents and or individuals to read the info on RED's website and examine if or how it matches God's word. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this band but each of us should "test the spirits"(1 John 4:1).

  37. I just was watching some Christian music on JUCE channel and their song Darkest Part comes across as some satanic ritual. As I watching this video at no point I thought to myself this is Christian music. I thought my tv channel changed and i checked the channel and it hadn't. I don't get how someone could claim to be a Christian Music group and not have Christ in their music. As a father of 6 children it and someone who grew up with Christian rock music lover i would
Never allow my children to touch anything from these guys. In a world full of Satanic music and lifestyles why not be the SALT & LIGHT. We are called to be set apart from this world and not a love the things in it. We need to stay away from anything that may lead someone astray from Christ love.

The sign of Horns is satanic and has been used to glorify Satan. Lucifer was the fallen angel who was Music Angel. He's still using same tricks to kill, steal and destroy

  38. Ever since I saw Red's live concert footage, album art and music videos I have gotten the feeling that they have deep mental problems, possibly they are possessed or tormented by demons.

  39. I just saw your post, asking the same thing I was...
If RED is it a real Christian band, cause I found listening to Deezer gospel songs I really like it. And I agree with you, check the fruits to make sure is he/she is a Jesus follower!
Besides I'm not a native English speaking, so definitely I can't get the lyrics until read it.
Anyways I was download the song and checking his videoclip and it make in doubt the Gone song... it seems to be dark stuff... at least reading..
I just prefer to dont download the video, it doesnt make me feel very good.
I will search more, to make sure...

We need to remember, about the wolfs pretending to be sheep too! - not saying that is the case, but we need to be aware of.
