Live like there is no tomorrow!

We've all heard the saying, live like there's no tomorrow. Some people apparently interpret this to mean they should live a wild and reckless life, and they end up expediting the process and cutting their lives short. Most of them would say at least I lived life to the fullest, but I'm sure their family and friends would have hoped for a different outcome. The next set of people are those in denial. We all know someone who has died at a young age, perhaps taken in a house fire, automobile accident, shooting, robbery, terminal illness, the list is endless. Despite that, I think human instinct tells us, that only happens to the other guy. If you think about that for a moment, it's really kind of arrogant to believe you are not subject to the same fates as others. The bottom line is, no matter how rich you are, how much you love God, how smart you are, or how much you take care of yourself, the unexpected can happen. To clarify one thing, God's not a puppeteer up in heaven killing off innocent children in car wrecks. We have free will, often times innocent people are victims because of a PERSON's bad decision. A lot of times, people expect God to fix problems, when he sent YOU to help fix the problem. Before that alcoholic or drug addict family member kills someone or someone else, keep bugging the crap out of them until they get help. You can't force someone to do something, but YOU CAN TRY! If you don't know how, reach out to some people that can help you.

I believe God made our heart an involuntary muscle for a reason. The fact is, we can move around as we wish, but we can't make our heart start and stop as we wish, it just beats. Guess what that means, you're not in control. Your life is a gift to you. God literally breathed life into you (Gen 2:7). A few of my readers are thinking, wait a minute Mike, there isn't a God! Other's say, there's a god but which religion is real. To those that don't believe in God, one of the coolest verses in the Bible Romans 1:20 says, For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.  That verse is simple, it means that God made everything on such an enormous scale, that it is completely outrageous to deny His existence. As I often say, not even the most skilled artist that ever lived could put on canvas all of the living creatures on Earth, much less bring them to life as living breathing, reproducing creatures. If you are not a believer, I ask one simple thing, keep this in mind as you live your life. Take off the blinders, put aside all your daily distractions from work and family life, and see everything around you and how magnificent it truly is, and asked yourself where did this all come from? If you say it came from a big bang, I'm not even going to disagree with you, because I believe that big bang came from God, our creator. Everything has a creator, it's just common sense.

I will end with this simple note. To me living like there is no tomorrow means telling those close to you that you love them before they leave, or settling an argument as quickly as possible. A lot of people don't do this. They just EXPECT that they will be there tomorrow.
